Winter Break

I haven't really blogged since I came home. I'm always out and about these days but let me give you guys a quick overview of my hijinks and misadventures of late. In this post: frozen airplanes, functionally dysfunctional families, and partying like a rock star.

What was I thinking partying the night before my trip? I went to a private party, got sloshed, went to a bar, got sloshed further, and went home at around 3 AM (four hours before I'm due at the airport). Brilliant eh? Anyway, my plane departed thirty minutes late because it snowed heavily the night before, so the plane had to be sprayed with anti-freeze liquid before lifting off.

The plane landed on Washington Dulles Airport at around 1 PM (thirty minutes before my connecting flight was scheduled to depart). First thing I did was to grab a glazed chocolate donut from Dunkin Donuts. Afterwards, I lounged around the terminal for a bit, talked to a creepy old fart, and went my merry way into the airplane.

Because of the delay in Halifax, my luggage didn't make it in time and had to be put into the next plane to San Francisco two hours later. Instead of waiting for my luggage, I just had United Airlines ship them to my parents' house. My aunt and uncle picked me up at the airport. I don't think my aunt was very happy about it, come to think of it. Oh well. She can shove her Jimmy Choos up her butt!

I spent the next few days with my family. It's a little weird hearing intelligent conversations over the dinner table again. Back in Halifax, me and my friends usually talk about the drama surrounding other people's lives and the ubiquitous topic of sex. My brain felt a little sluggish trying to keep up with discussions about the overall state of the economy and questions about the suitability of the current socio-political environment in the election of a female or black president.

Three days after I arrived in the Bay Area, I met Dana on gay.com. I had absolutely nothing to do and I've been wasting my time on the computer as usual. He messaged me first. He told me he's completing the requirements to get into the nursing program at San Jose State University. He also mentioned that he likes the same video games that I like. More importantly, he likes to get crazy drunk, a lot.

The next night, I had nothing to do again. So I took a bold step by agreeing to meet him at Hunter's, a gay bar in San Jose. I referred to it as a bold step because of the logistics nightmare such a trip posed. Since I don't drive, I was at the mercy of the Valley Transit Authority, which stops running at 11:30 PM. Getting drunk and irresponsible just wasn't allowed, because the costs I would incur if I missed my train and took a cab due to an alcohol-induced sexploit in a dark alley were staggering. However, I was bored and felt like a little risk-taking was in order so I went ahead with the plan.

I'm really glad I went. It was awkward at first going to a bar I've never visited before alone in a city I rarely go to. However, Joe, the bartender I met last summer, made me feel comfortable. Having him talk to me before Dana and his friends arrived almost made being ogled at by a lecherous old man bearable. I don't think his parents taught him that it's not polite to stare at people, especially those you don't know.

Dana arrived about half an hour after I did. I was actually starting to get pissed off but I knew it wasn't his fault because he shared a ride with a friend. I never expected to have so much fun that night. The bar was having an amateur go-go dance contest and I got peer-pressured by Dana, his friends, and Joe to enter. I danced to the tune of Please Don't Stop the Music by Rihanna and Big Girls Don't Cry by Fergie. I lost because I only took my pants off and not my shirt. The guy who won took everything except his underwear and danced like he was having the most pleasurable orgasm of his life. I thought to myself, "If I'm going to have to dance like that to win a $100 bar tab, he can have the damn thing."

The next night, I didn't have anything to do again so Dana invited me to his friends private party at the Glass Kat, a private club in San Francisco. The night went well, I met tons of new people and I also got introduced to Will, a bouncer at Club Dragon, a gay Asian bar near the Glass Kat. Did I say the night went well? Well something interesting happened near the end of the night. Some guy, Waylan, who obviously liked me a lot, dragged me to the staff room and forcefully tongue-fucked my mouth until I managed to pull away and leave the room. Unfortunately, a bouncer caught us and we got kicked out of the bar.

Waylan tried to weasel his way back into the club by concocting some stupid story. I honestly wasn't listening to what he was telling the bouncer and I was starting to get pissed. So I cut Waylan off and told the bouncer to escort him back inside so he could get his things. As they were walking back in, I heard the bouncer saying something about Waylan being full of drama.

I called Dana and he stayed with me outside until his other friends decided to leave fifteen minutes later. We went to Cardinal Coffee Shop and Lounge in San Jose afterwards. I wasn't really hungry so I didn't finish the cheeseburger I ordered.

Dana and I had lots of tiny misadventures after that (not to mention all the sex we were having). He made Christmas vacation fun. He later mentioned that my company helped him a lot because it took his mind away from all the unfortunate things that's been happening to him lately to which I replied, "Quick and dirty flings are really good for you. Just like the doctor recommended."

Last final exam of the term

I wrote my last final exam of the term last Saturday. I think I did well enough to get a B in the course although I wouldn't be surprised if I wind up getting a C+. At this point, I'm beyond caring about grades. Getting my undergraduate degree is the only thing that matters, mediocre grades notwithstanding.

There's nothing new and exciting to report. I've been tutoring a hockey jock in Calculus lately. What's frustrating is that he managed to get into the course without mastering basic algebra. The foundation of university-level mathematics, whether pure or applied, is still high-school algebra. I feel like I'm spending way too much time on doing refreshers on properties of exponents and fractions.

On another front, I'm coming home in two days. I can't contain my excitement. First order of business would be to drag my mother to downtown San Jose to have dinner at Fahrenheit Ultra Lounge. I have a craving for their Mango-glazed pork medallion with watercress salad on the side. That reminds me. I have yet to arrange transport from my place to Halifax Stanfield Airport. I should do that today.

Oh and I started reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows last weekend. So far so good. I think I have a crush on Gellert Grindelwald. I bet him and the young Albus Dumbledore had lots of mutual jack off sessions when they were both in Godric's Hollow one summer.

It was really cold yesterday, so I decided to stay home. Andrew's friends came over and we hung out for a bit. I succumbed to peer pressure and drank a few glasses of wine. By the end of the night, I was quite drunk. Between my crazy antics and the alcohol saturating my system, I managed to take a few pictures of the cats. Enjoy!
